Strength, courage, teamwork, a beautiful labour at home and a baby in a very unusual position – breech posterior with a twist trying to come out thy first. This is a huge story and obviously there’s a trigger warning as this is not a straight forward birth experience for Sarah and Al. But this story definitely has some most incredibly positive aspects to it which is what we are shining our light on here. Sarah did an amazing job at home working through her labour and it wasn’t until her body started pushing that they called the midwife to come around. Shortly after that the curve ball arrived – baby was not presenting head first. The following experience turns out to be one that provides Sarah with a huge opportunity to dig into more mental, physical and emotional courage and strength than she ever knew she had, and she shares with us how she tried everything and I mean literally e v e r y t h i n g to get baby out. But he wasn’t coming and this is where modern medicine, intervention and hospitals are invaluable when truly needed and this was certainly a case where it was truly needed. Sarah openly shares her thoughts feeling and emotions of the time when baby arrives and afterwards – it wasn’t until much later and after she’d gone through a range of emotions that she was told that there was literally no physical way she could have birthed Ari vaginally …….
