Jess' two positive hospital births

The Positive Births NZ podcast - A podcast by Helen Bartrom

Categories:

Proud to have overcome her fears and worked on her mindset, Jess shares with us her two birth experiences. Osteopath Jess jumped onto this podcast to share both of her stories because in her line of work she’s heard a lot of difficult stories and she understands the importance of sharing good experiences. We hear about her experiences of  pelvic girdle pain, sacroiliac joint pain and vulva varicose veins (vulva varicosities). Her first labour and birth with Lara occurred at 37 weeks and in this story Jess gives some very good explanations on the way she felt, how her body responded, how her hypnobirthing tools worked. I love how she shares about her experience of the gas – how it interfered with her ability to keep her jaw nice and relaxed (so important!!) She shares her reasoning behind choosing hospital as her place of birth, even in her second experience of a very fast 1 hour 45 min birth to baby Billie. If you too would like to learn more about hypnobirthing tools, check out www.positivebirths.co.nz for a range of online and live courses, plus the Positive Births in NZ book.
