Caroline's hospital birth to Gabriel

The Positive Births NZ podcast - A podcast by Helen Bartrom

Categories:

"I felt strong and it was an unbelievably good experience" Caroline discovered that the strength she had was so much deeper than she could imagine in her first birth to Gabriel.   Caroline used this podcast along with other hypnobirthing and active birth education to prepare herself. She shares with us her long conception journey, the discovery of endometriosis and how this led to surgeries and a miscarriage along the way. During her pregnancy she did a variety of mindset and physical preparation. At some point there was a concern about her large sized baby which influences her choice of birthing location, and then the threat of induction but you’ll hear how she navigates this and other options for her along the way during her birth journey.   Caroline describes how she and Sam worked together through her labour at home – she managed to reach 10cm before transferring to the hospital and then you’ll hear about the slightly longer time frame between reaching 10 cm and baby coming out into the world. There were options and informed decisions she made along the way and  I hope you listen right to the end to hear Caroline's beautiful message to all pregnant mums out there.
